Map my Run

A cool site for runners. Over 3000 routes around Sydney, with stacks of info on each one. I'm going to give this one a go on friday arvo if the weather is okay, though I think I'll start from Carillon Ave in Newtown, rather than down at Johnston St. (h/t MW)

Yay Sam! So proud of you for running so far.

Me, I don't do running. Unless I'm in youth group or playing some sort of sport (which, incidentally, I also don't do).

I prefer going to the gym or dance classes. Maybe I should find a cheaper way of exercising! I like going for long walks with my iPod, though that doesn't really burn enough carbs, does it?

Any suggestions for someone who hates running?

Long walks are good Soph - just don't stroll.

hmmm...you're probably right Libby but I just don't feel like I'm burning up anything, as I'm not sweating and I don't have a hugely elevated heart rate.

Do you do the power-walking arms? :) I've heard that helps.

Arms are really good for getting the heart rate going (I try to move them but not too much so as to avoid embarrassment....). Apparently if you hold your arms up above your head your heart has to work a lot harder to push the blood up there - that might help ;)
