The Child Within (4 of 40)

Today's challenge: Add something childlike (not necessarily childish) to your workspace or home.

I didn't feel as excited about this challenge when I read the brief. How to do this in an interesting way? I was racking my brain. For a brief moment, I considered covering my fingers with peanut butter and just touch everything below waste level. Greasy fingerprints are the hallmark of any child inhabited house. But this house has a lot of stainless steel - so I needed a new plan. What do kids do? Then it came - Drawing. Kids draw. They love it! Just give them a piece of paper and a 12 pack of derwents and they are away.

And so were we.

It was lots of fun. Now our fridge proudly displays two childish items!

Tomorrow's challenge: Become a scientist. Conduct a silly experiment.

Stay Tuned.

Your car drawing has certainly com a long way since we used to draw them as kids. Do you remember drawing the squirrel trees at Dad's office?

Hey thanks Lib, I was pretty impressed with it actually! I do remember drawing stuff when we'd hang around Dad's office - good times.

love it - you are both very good coloureriners...

How did you make the video do that? What program did you use on your Mac?

We just used imovie - it was a pretty simple vid. We just captured the footage, sped it up, got rid of the sound, added a song over the top, and made some titles. Done.

Thats cool - how do you speed it up?

Hey Soph, why don't you have a wedding ring on?

You are both very good drawers! I'm impressed. I once won a colouring in competition for WeetBix and won a Porsche (matchbox of course). Cool video - how awesome is iMovie!?! Do you capture on your phone or on the video camera?

Grubby walls....drawing....12 derwents. So did you take it to the usual finale by drawing on the walls ?

ha...would need permanent markers to make that authentically child-like behaviour, MW!

Rodeoclown, I'm actually not sure where my wedding ring is (in the photo...right now it's on my finger). I always take it off to cook, so I probably forgot to put it back on after dinner.

Just came home from Biblestudy and buggered, so Sam and I will do our crazy experiment tomorrow night!

Hey Nixter - there is an option in 'video FX' (under the editing tab) where you can add an effect called "fast/slow/reverse." That should do it for you.
