Britney - out and about

Click here. I do hope she can get it together. Perhaps we should pray for her?

Soph and I were chatting the other night about praying for celebrities. Does anyone have a non-Christian celebrity on their prayer list? Should we pray for them?

i prayed for britney a month ago when lots of this latest stuff was going down...

my guess is that celebs may not have heaps of Christian friends praying for them - so it's a good thing.

maybe the question is why? just cos they're a celeb? we ought to be praying for those closer to us first... but why not pray for celebs also...

I prayed for her too.

I think it would be great to hear of a celeb coming to Christ - it would get the name of Christ in the media

Hey guys
I often pray for Merrick & Rosso. Just Thursday morning this week they were having a go at Fred Nile which turned into a fairly harsh stab at Christians in general.
I think praying for non-Christian celebs is extremely important, especially as part of our media ministry.
There was a guy at Access All Areas last year that set up a ministry specifically praying for celebs, includinf Rove etc... anyone remember him?

Hey Des,

Nice to have you commenting. I don't remember that, though I would be interested to find out what he does. Surely he'd have an on-line presence. I'm going to check it out...

I often pray for celebrities. I do have my 'favourites' to pray for, which I do pretty regularly - but then others are incidental.

I also pray for other people I don't know - not just celebs - like: starving children in Africa; people from other nations; strangers I pass in the street or see on a bus; people in ambulances that race past; people I hear of who are in great need; etc. I can't do much for all those people except pray - and that's quite freeing - in that God can do so much more for them than I could anyway.
